  • Dispute resolution

The accelerating trend toward globalization has heightened the importance of businesses receiving good legal representation for their international business dealings. We work closely through our network of cross-boarder counsel throughout the world to assist our clients with local legal issues in foreign countries. We assist our clients with letters of credit and other documents so that they can successfully complete their international trade transactions quickly and cost effectively. Besides helping our clients move goods and services across national boundaries, we can also assist clients with the acquisition or divestiture of foreign assets and with international joint ventures, including their tax aspects. Licensing and vigorously enforcing our clients’ trademarks, copyrights and patents around the world are important services we offer our clients. We also are able to assist clients with Section 337 intellectual property infringement cases for imports and other unfair trade practice matters. We offer advice on compliance with customs regulations and can represent clients during a customs audit. We can also help clients comply with export controls on high-technology products, defense articles, technical data, and “dual use” goods, as well as other foreign trade restrictions. We represent clients in litigation involving international business disputes and serve as advocates for our clients in international arbitral institutions such as the International Chamber of Commerce International Court of Arbitration (ICC). We understand the role the Hague Convention plays in these types of cases. Additionally, our firm has attorneys that are fluent in Spanish, Greek, and Tagalog, and one who has limited use of Mandarin Chinese.
